The target audience is teenagers between the age of 14 - 20.This is because teenagers will be more likely be more intereseted in fantasy series instead of adults that would probaby things fantasy stuff are for children and not suitable for them,



1) What stereotypes of men are reinforced and subverted in Doctor Who: An Unearthly Child? How?

One of the stereotypes was that the character playing Doctor Who was often a man.This is becuase back then everything counted on the male gaze and they thought women were noit fit to act as Doctor Who becuse they were often seen as weak and only fit for houskeeping.While men were seen as the leaders and stronger in society.The year 2018 is considered important in Doctor Who history because in 2018 Doctor who was played by a women for the first time through out the serie.

2) What stereotypes of women/girls are reinforced and subverted in Doctor Who: An Unearthly Child? How?

One of the stereotypes was on Doctor Who's grandaughter.Oraginally she was never meant to be repesented at his granddaughter was just supposed to be his right hand that was there to help however old man(pedophiles) in 1963 thought it was inappropriate for a 15 year old to be around an old man especially as his right hand.So they changed her to his granduaghter for the male gaze. 

3) How do the representations of young people and old people in An Unearthly Child reflect the social and historical context of the 1960s? 

In thw 1960s it was inappropriate for a young girl to be seen around and all man.This is important because it shows how women were treated in the film industry in the 1960s due to the fact that most people in charge of making flims were grown man.

4) What representations of race/ethnicity can be found in Doctor Who: An Earthly Child? Is this surprising or not? Give reasons for your answer and consider historical / cultural context (the 1960s). Has this changed in more recent series of Doctor Who?



5) How is social class represented in An Unearthly Child? Think about how education and knowledge is presented in the episodes?

Doctor Who was considered a very educational serie back then.And the reason for this space was newly discovered and Doctor wgo was reosention the new world of discovery.However the serie recieved many backlashes due to the fact many people back then were very religious and considered these kind of things weird.Therefore many people decided to not watch it because of this.However as more episodes were realeased more people became interested in Doctor Who and as time passed they gained more viewers.
