Intertextuality is when one media text references another media text – through genre, conventions, mise-en-scene or specific cultural references

a music video was first launched in 1981 as the first a platform for music videos and the first music channel on television. Programs such as BBC showcased music videos from the charts alongside ‘live’ stage performances.

In 1981 MTV launched as the first platform for music videos and the first music channel on television.

1980s and 1990s were important part of music industry was the start of a new era for music videos as more money was spent to create innovative and creative videos with a narrative and a good director.


5) How are music videos distributed and watched in the digital age?

In 2005 the way of watching music video completely changed to something new.After the launch of YouTube in 2005 the rise of of new digital media paved the way for bands such as One Direction  and increasing promotion of music videos through adds in order to get the max amount of profit.
