The main story will be about a recent interview with the star to talk about her life as an A lister celebrity which the rich will be able to relate to. She talks about shows she attends as a model such as Paris fashion show and a ball held by the Queen only for the upper class to attend.
Media Language [approximately 100 words]
• Magazine cover conventions: what cover lines, font/typography, colour scheme and more
will you use for your magazine and why?
colour scheme: The main colour of the magazine cover is a appealing shade of purple. I choose this colour specifically as it gives of a luxuries and romantic vibes. Also suits the main cover model as one of her most iconic run walk was in a purple dress which creates a nostalgia feeling for the audience as they would remember her iconic walk.
cover lines: The cover lines features talks about the cover image model Kate moss but as well as other news that the audience can expect to read about in the magazine .For example my first cover line talks about the Paris fashion show. Her fans would find this interesting as well as the upper class as the clothes featured in the show are off high quality and are clothes only the upper class will be able to afford.
font/typography: I choose a fancy font for my magazine tittle as it's eye catching but also gives off luxuries vibes. Just from looking at the fancy cover one can tell it's an expensive magazine aimed at the upper class without needing to check the prize tag.
• Cover image: how will you use mise-en-scene to communicate meanings in your main cover
image (e.g. setting, costume and make-up, expression etc.)
Font : user serif show authority and traditional
make-up : the model is featured wearing bold makeup to show her power and control and present her elegance and feminine side. The purple make up and background gives a sense of luxury and creates a powerful and royalty aura around the model. This makes the model the centre of attention as the bold makeup and purple setting makes her immediately appeal to the audience.
Expression : The model has a serious expression on her face which shows she's focused and shows the audience that she is determined. This also allows the upper class audience to take her seriously as they are more likely to be attracted to a magazine that make appeal and relates to their daily lives than a magazine that seems silly.
• Double page spread feature: what will your feature be about and why would it appeal to
your target audience?
My double page spread will talk about fashion events, luxuries watches such as Rolex and luxuries jewelleries made from diamonds.
New luxury locations for vocations.
Kate Moss ( model ) special make up collection make from the finest materials with only limited to 10 available.
The royal family and nobles that the upper class will be familiar with.
New nobles introduced to high society and receive a title.
Media Representations [approximately 100 words]
• What representations of people, places and groups will you create in your magazine? E.g.
gender, race/ethnicity, social class etc.
My magazine will include representation of Nepali people and the main cover model is from Nepal. This will not only create more opportunities for Asian women. Another was it include representation as it feature a women instead of a man .This is against the norms of high society as mainly white man are part of the upper society as they control it .As a result it's very unusual so see an Asian Women featuring on a magazine e and opening feature door for other women to find a place in high society.
• How will your magazine reinforce or challenge stereotypes?
Challenge stereotypes : My magazine will reinforce stereotypes by featuring a female model that is presented as powerful and in control who gain a place of importance in high society by gaining a title. This reinforces stereotypes as it's unlikely to see a women still in control in the upper / royalty society. This will have am impact on the royalties and it's often the men who claim titles in high society and the women is very unlikely to often just seen as the wife of a noble man.
Reinforce : My magazine will reinforce stereotypes by assuming all women will be interested in make up and fashion events while the men will be interested in Rolex watches and cars.
